Washington, D.C.-based contemporary R&B artist who debuted in 2016 with a set of romantic street ballads. Unlike the majority of his late-2010s contemporaries, R&B vocalist, songwriter, and producer Shade Jenifer got his first break through radio. An entry in a social media-driven airplay contest run by WPGC, a radio station in Jenifer's native Washington, D.C., resulted in the support of DJ Young Music. The DJ not only played the submission but also signed Jenifer to his eOne-distributed DYMG label. "Ain't No Problem" was released as Jenifer's first single in early 2016. A self-titled debut album heavy on romantic, Usher- and Chris Brown-inspired street ballads, all of which were composed by Jenifer, was out by the end of that April. ~ Andy Kellman
Shade Jenifer is looking for EDM, Pop and Trapsoul Beats for a new project. At present, we don't have any details as to what the new project is.
